A member asked:

Is botox reinjection at 2.5 months good/bad?

Neither good or bad: Every patient responds with slight differences to the cosmetic injections of botulin toxin drugs. Their muscle anatomy is different, some have bulkier muscle mass and some just metabolize the products at a different rate. Ideally injections should not be repeated any sooner than 2-2.5 months as the incidence of potential side effects might increase., rarely on a few patients that's all it'll last.

Neither: Botox effects are variable in all people. The drug itself is very sensitive, if it is mixed over a week or so old it looses potency and does not last as long. Some patients say Botox last 2 to 5 months. If you are seeing the muscle finction return then it is time for another treatment.

Botox: It is appropriate to retreat with Botox if there is recurrence of movement of the target muscles. Most patients typically are retreated between 3 and 4 months after treatment, but occasionally require earlier retreatment. Early recurrence of wrinkling after Botox can also occur if insufficient Botox was injected the first time.
