Dentist tells you: Many patients have periodontal problems and don't show any outward symptoms. Don't assume that if it doesn't hurt you are fine. See a local dentist for an exam.

Bleeding: Bleeding is the easiest way to determine health. Think of it this way: parts of your eye are similar to your gingiva/gums. If you woke up in the morning, and rubbed your eyes, and they bled, how would you react? Bleeding in gums is not normal. If they bleed, your body is telling you something. You stop the bleeding by flossing daily and brushing. Either way, you still should go see a dentist.

Only one way: You need to see your dentist. They are the only one that can tell for sure.
