A member asked:

Do my gums look healthy if pink and shiney?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, partially: Pink is the right color rather than bright red or magenta. The critical area is often the gums between the teeth that are called papillae. Pink here is really good. The texture of the gums should be stippled, not shiny and smooth. Shiny and blood could indicate edema and beginning inflammation. Inflammation in the gums is a serious problem. It leads to bacterial presence in your blood vessel.
