Weight loss: The band is placed around the stomach to decrease appetite. It does not work when you eat- it works two hours later. The band adds pressure to the stomach and that allows your body to be fooled into thinking your last meal was more than it was. It does not make you feel full, it does not make you feel satisfied when you eat, it works two hours later. - it is a great weight loss operation.

Gastric band: A gastric band is a weight loss surgery where we take a band of silicone and place it around the top part of your stomach. Then with frequent adjustments or fills we full the band with saline to slow the passage of food through the band.
