AC separation: Surgery is still controversial. Repair could include pinning, screw fixation, and/or ligament reconstruction, or some combination thereof. Pinning or screw fixation has shown limited long-term success without concomitant ligament reconstruction. New ligament reconstruction techniques seem promising, but limited long-term studies exist.
