This is it: At 3 years, you are as likely as good as you will be. Sprains heal in about 6-12 weeks, and symptoms can linger after that, but after 3 years, there is no expectation of change. A grade 2 AC seperation typically is not painful long term. You need to have an exam and figure out what the correct diagnosis is. You may have developed arthritis in the AC joint. Injections and surgery are an option
