What is the definition or description of: pneumatic dilatation?

Openingwitha balloon: Often times used to describe a method of opening the esophagus with a balloon due to a condition called achalasia. (narrowing of the end of the esophagus) i suppose you can use this term to open an artery as well such as in a procedure called angioplasty (opening of a heart artery with a bolloon).
