No: Slipping rib syndrome is related to the fact that ribs 1-7 are directly attached to the sternum via the cost-chondral connection. But ribs 8-10 are connected to each other and to rib 7 by a fibrous connection but they are not connected to the sternum. This makes them more mobile.
