A member asked:

If i'm getting a catscan on my foot, why are the doctors taking blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

To check kidneys: If the cat or ct scan of the foot is being done with contrast, its important to check on the kidney function before giving the contrast fluids. These can sometimes affect kidney function.
