Soiling: In extreme cases usually though only in elderly or debilitated people it can lead to rectal ulcers or even colonic perforations. More commonly it can cause fecal overflow incontinence or if chronic and resulting in long term straining in an attempt to defecate it can lead to laxity of the pelvic floor and incontinence hope this helps.
