Technique: Using an instrument risks perforating the rectum which can be lethal.The triple-h enemy -- high, hot, heck-of-a-lot, or the two-finger scissors technique are safe. I'm sorry this has happened; this gets missed and still causes avoidable deaths.

Remove impaction: Fecal impaction is not uncommon. Constipation is the underlying cause. What causes the constipation is multiple different dietary and physical challenges. Impaction needs to be removed for it can lead to multiple complications. Commonly associated with abdominal pain possible urinary tract infection possible fever of unknown origin etc.
