Yes and no: If cross bite is dental, elasticits in conjunction with braces can be very effective. If cross bite is skeletal, orthopedic expansion for children, or orthopedic expansion with surgery, is required. Please see a qualified orthodontic specialist for evaluation and rx. Don't be fooled by something that sounds too good to be true.

They can be...: Rubber bands or elastics can be very helpful. Their efficiency depends upon a patient's willingness to cooperate. It also depends upon the proper elastics being used. There may be other ways as well to correct a cross bite. For you specifically it would be best to visit with a reputable orthodontist.
