Without physical therapy, will a torn lateral meniscus still be able to heal?

Maybe: Pt does not heal the meniscal tear, the healing of the meniscus depend upon the location of the tear, peripheral tears(toward the outside)could potentially heal, teras more toward the middle of the meniscus do not heal.Either one usually require surgery.(arthoscopy).
