A member asked:

Do i have to be put to sleep for a crown lengthening procedure?

No: Crown lengthening is a surgical change of the gum and bone around a tooth. If you are anxious, you can request sedation but most of the time, general sedation (or going to sleep) is not required for doing the procedure. Discuss with your dentist your comfort zone and decide together what is best for your situations.

No: It is a relatively easy procedure that can be completed under local anesthesia.
