I have a bump on my arm that is to be removed and biopsied because the doctors do not know what it is. what's the procedure? do they put me to sleep?

Don't know: enough about it to try to guess. If you have a superficial lesion - it might only require a local. If you have large or particularly deep procedure than other anesthesia may be indicated. The anesthesiologist should be able to tell you based on what the surgical procedure will be.
