A member asked:

What are the pros and cons of benzaclin (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) for acne?

Good choice: Benzoyl peroxide is the best over-the-counter acne medication and Clindamycin is a favorite topical prescription medicine that works well. Having them packaged together is convenient and this is a good choice to start treatment of moderately severe acne. If there are many blackheads, a retinoic acid derivative may be helpful as well. Good luck, glad you're getting rx that should work.

Minimal side effects: Benzaclin (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) for acne is highly effective in some patients and most patients see good results. It can leave the skin dry and tight and can cause some itching initially.
