Postprandial Hypotn: There's a relatively rare condition called postprandial hypotension where the shunt of blood to the gut lowers blood pressure and decreases the amount of blood seen by the heart. The rate rises in response to that. While low blood sugar frequently causes high heart rates, it would be unusual for a spike in sugar to do so. "sugar makes you hyper" is a scientifically debunked myth, i'm afraid...
