Good question: There are many causes of chronic cough with white sputum production that is foamy. Copd, chronic bronchitis, heart failure, post nasal drip are all possibilities. See your physician to get evaluated and treated.

Chronic bronchitis: The most common cause is chronic bronchitis. Sometimes significant postnasal drip can cause this. Usually frequent sputum is from chronic bronchitis as a consequence of smoking or asthma.
