Eyelid problem: The skin of the eyelid is very thin and sensitive to products that often do not bother other parts of the body. From your description the patch of reddened skin may be an area of either inflammatory or allergic dermatitis. Cleaning products are usually very irritating and drying to eyelid skin, so these should not be used. An antibiotic anti-inflammatory ointment to may be needed to help healing.
