Braces: I would swish/gargle with warm salt water and liquid Benadryl as many times as possible to help blood flow in that area an promote healing. There is also some numbing past by oragel section that I have found very helpful for these types of ulcers. Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen will also help with pain.

Probably irritation: The white ulcers are usually from rubbing a bracket. Try a warm salt water rinse and use wax to cover the bracket.

Get it checked: May have a "sticker" 1. Ask your orthodontic specialist to check your braces to make sure there are no annoying "stickers" that he/she can reshape for you. 2. Take 1 200mg ibuprofen/advil/motrin with food or lots of liquid 4x/day. 3. Rinse 3x/day with 1 tsp salt in 8oz warm water. Do not swallow. 4. Apply orthodontic wax to "sticker." 5. With q-tip dab orabase-b onto sore spot.

See DDS/Orthodontist: Until you see your dentist or orthodontist, rinse with a small glass of warm water with 1teaspoon of baking soda. Also apply colgate orabase b with a clean (washed) finger or q-tip directly on the ulcer. Take over the counter pain reliever (aspirin, advil, tylenol (acetaminophen) or aleve).
