A member asked:

Im 22 weeks pregnant and had my mist flu vaccine is it safe ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably: The flumist is a living virus and as such is often avoided during pregnancy, particularly in the first 12 weeks while organ formation is occurring. The inactivated flu shot is often preferred and recommended after the first trimester to protect mom & baby from their increased risk with flu. Neither form of the vaccine has been known to cause an increase of defects or problems in pregnancy.
