Depends on how bad: Depending on how bad a wound is, along with its surrounding skin, one can decide on how long to keep it wrapped with gauze. If there are oozing skin abrasions, gauze will help soak up the ooze and prevent germs from getting to the abraded area. The gauze should be changed more than once a day if needed. If the skin is fine, and the wound is stitched-up and is dry, gauze may be needed for 3-4 days.

3-4 days: 3-4 days should be ok. Then change the gauzes. Might be good to re-wrap it with new gauze. Be sure to check with your doctor.
