Diet,cholecystectomy: Low fat diet is the usual recommendation for fatty liver and to avoid pain from gallbladder contractions. But a prolonged period of fasting or or severe dieting leads to lack of emptying of the gallbladder which leads to stasis of bile and gallstones. You need to be on a strict diet to lose weight to reverse fatty liver changes ( primary indication for liver transplant in usa) . Get the gb out.

Low sugar, low carbs: Fatty liver is often caused by excesss sugars and carbohydrates. Stop all sugar, keep carbs low and avoid fried foods and veggie oils. Eating healthy, saturated fats with each meal will keep the flow of bile moving.
