Can try a video: When the child wakes up at night, parents can make a video of her moaning (but do not let her know there are parents in the room, so that she won't interact with the parents). Afterwards, parents can make an appointment with the doctor again (separate from a routine check-up, because there is not enough time at a check-up to look at a video), to review the symptoms together.

See below: Is she awake alert and recognizing you when she awakens? If not, then she may be having night terrors which are harmless and will go away with time as they are a developmental issue. If the child is awake, she could be having nightmares which could be related to stress she is experiencing during the day. If she is ok in the am and not sick, then listen to your doctor as she is probably ok.
