Possibly: Sometimes it only appears one tonsil is more swollen because of its position even though they are equal in size. Other times they are asymmetric and that may be cause for concern. In those cases of a persistently asymmetric tonsil, surgery may be indicated. Best to speak to an otolaryngologist for the best advice.
