Should: The common over the counter & more specific proprietary urine or blood tests look for presence of specific hormones created by the embryo/placenta/stalk mass. Were you to be really pregnant these hormones should be present in amounts that would make the test positive. It might be falsely negative very early, before the hormone appeared in enough amounts, but would turn positive over time.
