Not Many!: Not many should! the original food pyramid was not based on scientific fact and has been thoroughly discounted by most modern physician and nutritionists. The best diet for today's modern person is to eat 1/3 lean protein, 1/3 dark green leafy vegetables and 1/3 power carbohydrates. Avoid the white starches, wheat and corn due to genetic modification.

Few. Bogus!: The conventional chart is built on old biases. Clearly the low carb diet, the mediterranean diet, and the paleolithic diet would not fit into the old quide. Scientifically obsolete, more low-non-fat! the other diets deliver!
