A member asked:

My mom was diagnosed with peripheral arterial disease. should she control water intake? protein inta

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Water/protein are ok: Peripheral artery disease is clogging of the arteries, or hardening of the arteries, due to plaques (of cholesterol & inflammation cells) building up on the inside of the arteries. This can also happen in heart arteries (coronary artery disease). Getting normal cholesterol, weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar is very important. Water and protein intake does not affect or worsen the arteries.
