Yes: Metoprolol, the ingredient in toprol-xl has been reported to cause male sexual dysfunction. If you are experiencing this, it is best to see your doctor to have it investigated rather than stopping your medication on your own. Stopping toprol-xl suddenly can cause problems. There are other medications in the same class that are less likely to cause these side effects, but they are more expensive.
