It depends: A routine urinalysis will test for the presence of protein, glucose, red blood cells, white blood cells, appearance, specific gravity, and chemicals that can indicate an infection. A urine toxicology screen is not routinely done pre-operatively, but if it is done, it can detect marijuana.
