I have detected that i have protein in my urine by carrying out a urinalysis test. i show no other symptoms other than protein in my urine. i am also a regular smoker of marijuana, could that be whats causing it? and how do i stop it?

Protein in urine can be transient or persistent.Benign causes like fever, heavy exercise can cause it or more serious conditions like urinary infection, kidney stones, chronic kidney disease may cause it.You need repeat urine studies with quantitative estimation or protein excretion; please check with your PCP for further workup.To answer your question, marijuana doesn't directly cause proteinuria

Stopping marijuana- if addicted will require help from a professional pl do so. Your protein will require some more testing by your family doc. It might not be related Good luck with both . you can do it
