A member asked:

What is the effect of electric shock to the fetus if the mother is pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Electricity usually passes from the point of contact directly ground. If the uterus is in that path, and depending on the strength of the electrical current, the fetus can be affected. However, if the shock is minor, and the baby continues to be moving afterwards the likelihood of problem is small. Regardless, after any shock it would be a good idea to be evaluated by your obstetrician.
