Second hand smoke: Second hand smoke is as bad as smoking, and you are at increased risk of getting respiratory conditions like copd, and cancer of the lung. Whether you will get cancer or not, we can not answer, but you are at incresed risk, thats all i can say risk is also related to how much smoke and for how many years is the exposure.

Not just cancer!: Aside from the other risks you are taking by breathing your partner's toxic exhaust as defined by the prior answer, you also risk being burned alive or killed by toxic smoke from a fire caused by, "careless smoking" (an oxymoron if ever there was one!).
