Pediatrician: You should bring your son to a pediatrician or pediatric hematologist to be more specific. He has severe iron deficiency and in addition he also has significant decrease in platelet which requires further evaluation to find the cause. Immune thrombocytopenic purpura is quite common in pediatric- however other cause has to be ruled out. Other disorder like thalassemia etc has to be ruled out too.
