Indeed: Acrylic nails starve the "real" nail surface of oxygen which encourages fungal growth. Also, as the nails separate over time, moisture can seep underneath them increasing fungal growth. Be sure that at each "redo, " you have a complete clean up and disinfection. Be sure your technician only uses one file per client. Ask that your tech keep your stuff separate from other tools and materials.
