Fungus Amongus: First, you should make sure that the changes in your nails that concern your are indeed a nail fungus. Have the nail tissue cultured to evaluate for the presence of fungal elements... Appropriate skin and nail care/hygiene is very important. Some rx topical antifungal nail lacquers can help on less severe cases... Oral antifungals are probably the most reliable course of treatment.

No guarantees : If mild, can try Vicks vapo rub, topically. Oral Lamisil (terbinafine) requires blood tests and several months of treratment. Total permanent surgical removal is an option if severe. Newer fda cleared lasers show some promise.
