Chemical pregnancy: Normal luteal phase (from ovulation to first day of period) is 12-14 days. A short phase may mean there's not enough of your own Progesterone to support an early pregnancy. This can cause a very early miscarriage. However an abnormality in the chromosomes of the embryo will also cause miscarriage and is more likely. A Progesterone blood test 6days after ovulation will give information.
