R-I-C-E: Rest it, put ice on it for the first 24-48 hours, use an ace wrap (compression) and keep it elevated. Nsaids such as Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen) may help with pain and inflammation as well. After about 4-7 days, depending onm each patients specific presentation, you can start slowly woking the wrist/hand back into shape with some basic strengthening exercises. If still painful, get a doctor's exam.
