Acne treatment: It is not at all unusual to break out more in the first few weeks after beginning an acne treatment regimen. Think of it as the treatments working on the skin to purge the skin cells and sebum that have been sitting in the pores. Keep up with the regimen and check in with your doctor as scheduled. You will be happy in six weeks or so, when your skin looks fabulous!

Yes: As your skin is 'getting used to' the treatment, much of the material that works its way to the surface is being released a bit more quickly resulting in a higher number of acne eruptions than normal. This should settle down as your skin gets accustomed to your new regimen. Hang in there!
