It should: You do however need to rest it as well as prescibed by your doctor. If you do not it will likely recur.

Will heal: The Prednisone course is useful for the acute period of inflammation and pain reduction. It does not cure the problem and should not be used for anything more than a short course. Rest and physical therapy are the mainstay therapies of overuse/underuse syndromes and healing can take many months to a year. Resume physical activities slowly and consistently, with a plan to build up gradually.
