No: Although weight loss can be a side effect of Ritalin (methylphenidate) in some people, Ritalin (methylphenidate) is not used as a weight loss aid. It's used as a stimulant to help people with adhd. Off-label, it has sometimes been used to augment antidepressant effect in treatment resistant depression. If you have concerns about your weight, please speak with your physician about healthier ways to deal with this.
