If the symptoms are particularly bothersome see a vein specialist with experience treating breast veins. There are treatment options, such as sclerotherapy, for the bothersome veins for most areas of the body.

Phlebitis: Varicose veins can have increase in symptoms related to changes during the menstrual cycle. It is felt that hormonal changes can result in fluid shifts, weight gain by fluid leak into the capillary beds. This fluid shift can cause increase in venous pressure resulting in a localized self limiting phlebitis. Acute thrombosis of breast veins can be serious. Medications like ibuprofen/aleve can help.
