Hmm...need more info: Bruising can mean low platelets and must be checked by your doctor. I am not sure if by knots you mean cysts, blisters, or bumps. Things that come and go within a day are very few, and the most common one is hives, which can look dusky or "bruised": http://www.Dermnetnz.Org/reactions/urticaria.Html i recommend seeing your doctor to help figure out this puzzle.
