Vagal manuevers: If your palpitations are from SVT you can try something called a "vagal maneuver". These include coughing or bearing down like you have to have a bowel movement. You can also try rubbing your carotid artery on your neck. The palpitations may not necessarily be from SVT so you might need to confirm with a heart monitor. Other options include medication such as beta blockers or an SVT ablation.
