Hard to say....: But any pain persisting and having no explanation after a year is worthy of further evaluation.

Arthritis / inflamed: Tail bone pain may be caused by injury, arthritis, inflammation, abnormal shape, infection, cysts and cancer. Sometimes no cause can be found. I would recommend seeing your primary care doctor or spine surgeon. Good luck!
