What can i use to prevent or cut the duration of a cold sore on its first stages? please help i think one is on it way

Starting an anti-: Viral at the first symptoms can stop it in its tracks. Acyclovir or valacyclovir work.

Prevention: Cold sore or more specifically aphthous ulcer can be prevented by avoiding a common foam detergent found in most toothpastes called sodium laurel sulfate. Switching to biotene or other toothpaste not containing this ingredient can be the cure in preventing this painful condition.
