See your doctor ASAP: These symptoms can be due to decrease blood flow to the colon (ischemic colitis) or infectious colitis especially due to so-called enterohemorrhagic e. Coli. It is important to differentiate these two since many people empirically use antimicrobials for ischemic colitis and the antimicrobials should not be used in this particular e. Coli infection since more complications can occur.

Go to ER: Bloody stools in a 59 yo requires evaluation. Evaluation needs to be immediate (that's the reason for er and not waiting until tomorrow) because the extent of bleeding needs to be evaluated (do you need blood?) and the possibility that this is a warning sign of worse bleeding needs to be considered. This will determine if you need to be admitted to the hospital.
