Baby behaviour: This is a lay person's version of older kids behaviunbg as if they are still babies.

Milestones: The newborns gross motor, fine motor , social and language development changes weekly. The baby's behavior changes with these changing developmental milestones. Random smiling to social smiling, cooing to talking, grasp to pincer grasp, lying to rolling and mimicking the activity in the woomb to sleeping through the night.

Whether premature or: full-term, newborns exhibit predictable, expected patterns of responsiveness, motor activity & regulation of states of arousal based on genetic & biological factors. From that point, responsiveness of the environment (parents) to the infant's behaviors impacts the trajectory of emotional & behavioral development, as well. Knowledge of age-appropriate behaviors is needed to recognize atypical ones
