Big pituitary tumor: Presumably you mean "macroprolactinoma", which are pitutary tumors that make prolactin. A "macro" is a big one (>10mm). The high prolactin shuts down lh and fsh and causes loss of periods (women) and low testosterone (men). A big tumor can cause visual problems, headaches. There are excellent drugs (cabergoline, bromocriptine) to shrink the tumor, normalize hormones. Surgery usually not needed.
