Dermal Fillers: Dermal fillers are materials commonly used to "fill-in" facial wrinkles and decrease visible signs of aging. These substances are injected into the skin to plump lips, enhance facial contours, and soften the appearance of facial folds. The most common filler materials are derived from hyaluronic acid (i.e. Restylane (dermal fillers) and juvederm).

Wrinkles: "dermal fillers" is a general term used to describe the material that plastic surgeons would inject into the superficial layers of the skin to soften the appearance of wrinkles. The most common dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in our skin. Depending upon the exact dermal filler used, its effects may last up to one year.

Restore Volume: Dermal fillers are injectables that are designed to restore volume to soft tissue and make skin more youthful, particularly in the nasolabial folds and marionette lines of the face. They are most commonly composed of hyaluronic acid, but can also be composed of lactic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, and other substances.

Lines/contour filler: Plastic surgeons ; dermatologists started using dermal fillers to restore or correct facial lines or wrinkles but over the years we have expanded their use to correct areas of deficient contours as well. Autogenous fillers like fat or 'off the shelf' fillers like hyaluronic acid, hydroxyapatite or silicone can be used to correct lines or defects.
